Name: Nicole Country: United States State: Nebraska Birthday: 5/11/1982 Gender: Female
Interests: Theatre, obviously, the bible, my family and friends, inner-city missions, music - playing and listening, dancing, coffee, ice cream, sports - especially soccer and Nebraska football, traveling, books, movies, shopping, snow-skiing, hiking, rafting, swimming, running; all these things are great, but the thing that always interests me is finding out about people and being part of their lives. Expertise: Laughing, ghetto dancing (hehe), driving (doesn't driving 10 hours at least twice a year make me an expert?), theatre in many different aspects, singing, playing the piano, flirting (sometimes too good), listening, reading and writing (missed out on the arithmatic), sewing, building things, fixing things on cars (I fixed my own car handle!), I'm working on making listening to God an expertise of mine, but I think it's going to be awhile before it's there. | So....I've kind of gotten over this whole blogging thing, don't really have much time for it anymore, but if you want to keep in touch in a more intimate...I love e-mails, messages on facebook or myspace, and more particularly...phone calls. Try me that way and I will tell you all about the amazing things God somehow decides to bless me with.
| I have a pressing question for any of you who might read this:
What do you think of a girl and guy living together in a two bedroom apartment who have a strictly plutonic relationship?
I'm very interested in hearing what you all have to say.
| I love it when God does unexpected things...it just proves that He's still at work in the world! Easter is a great time to remember the most unexpected thing that He did. He brought Jesus to this earth to save His people, but Jesus ended up dying on a cross as a thief would, which was completely unexpected by the Jews. They all expected him to defeat the Romans and save them in that way, but unbeknownst to them, Jesus would rise from the dead and defeat everything evil forever. How exciting is that!
God's been doing the unexpected in my life a lot lately. First of all with the nanny job, and then with being stuck at PF Chang's for awhile. That's where I am still working, and it is definitely not where I expected to be at this point after college, but He has been using me in awesome ways in the lives of the people I work with, so although it's not what I expected, I know it's what God wants for the time being. And then yesterday, I was contacted by a talent scout in Omaha and got asked to come to an open call for a new agency here, so it's very possible that I may get quite a bit of work with them.
God never ceases to amaze me and I marvel and get excited everytime He does the unexpected. He wants to do the same thing in your life....so keep your eyes open, you never know when He'll suprise you by doing something exciting and unexpected in your life!
| Yeah...I know, this update is a little overdue. My adventures, as they were to be, came to a unexpected end quite soon. Have you ever gone into a situation thinking it was going to go one way and God goes..."SURPRISE!!!" Well...that's exactly what happened to me. I knew that God brought me into the job of nannying for more than just the opportunity to travel the country and see the workings of a Broadway show. I knew I was going to be used in a big way in McCall's life (the girl I was nannying), but nothing could have prepared me for how that was going to be.
In a very shortened version....I ended up becoming a pillar of strength and support as well as a prayer warrior for McCall and her mother as they got pulled into a heated battle with McCall's dad. This man likes to do everything he can to make his ex-wife's life miserable, so he decided he didn't like the fact she hired me and decided to cause as many problems as possible. As his attempts failed, he got even more angered and hostile until he ended up assaulting me and kidnapping McCall and pulling the tour company into it. Finally, it got to the point that the producers of the show decided that they were no longer going to put up with his crap and removed McCall from the show.
So, after going to Atlanta, Charlotte, Baltimore, Hershey and New York within two weeks, I found myself back at home back to looking for a job. I was okay with it though, I knew that God used me in the way He desired to and He taught me some incredibly valuable things that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. PF Chang's took me back, so I've been working there while sending out my resume to different places. I've decided to pursue something in either theatre ministry or inner-city missions to gain experience that will be beneficial in the future. I have an interview with an inner-city mission here in Omaha next week, and Saddleback Church in California has an opening in their Creative Arts team, so I sent them my resume this past week. I'm excited to see what God brings a long next!
If you want to hear the full version of my story with McCall, e-mail me and I will send you a copy of the story. God Bless!!!
| Well...I'm in Atlanta!!! God has been aweing me by this job everytime I turn around. I still can't believe I'm here!
We leave for Charlotte North Carolina tomorrow morning. If you all ever want to come visit me along the way, your stay would be free and I would to have the company! Go to this sight and you can see a copy of our tour schedule: http://www.annieontour.com/itin.cfm?links=tour.
McCall is the coolest little ten year old, I think we are going to have a great time together and I'm so excited how much me being able to do this is helping out her family. Oh, and all the girls in this show are so incredibly talented. Some of them have a more impressive resume than I do.
Anyway...I'll keep you all updated on my adventures!
